Lets mix adventure, culture and some beachin’ time!
1. ADVENTURING in Ubud
This time i’m trying a bit of adventure by hop-in on those rafting boat in Ayung River. The place offers several route that i can choose between 1,5 hours or 2,5 hours long with price start from Rp 110.000,-.
You can learn the teamwork and for you who never works out daily, it might’ve been a bit of challenge for your muscle. But hey, traveling is not about laying around on your hotel room right?
2. BACK TO CULTURE in Uluwatu
When in Bali, i try to watch the magical Balinese dance performance. They have several dance like Pendet Dance, Panji Semirang Dance, Condong Yak Dance, Cendrawasih Dance, Legong Dance, Kecak Dance, etc.
There’s several area in Bali where you can watch these dance. In Ubud, Uluwatu, GWK (Garuda Wisnu Kencana) and several other place that i forget.
I really really want to watch the Kecak Dance and decided to go to GWK where the there’s no entrance fee to watch the dance. Unlike in Uluwatu we have to pay another Rp 100.000 to watch the performance. I don’t mind the entrance fee though, but if i want to watch the Kecak Dance in Uluwatu, words say that i have to register early because the tickets sold out really quick. So, since i don’t have the time to register early, i drive to GWK to watch the dance scheduled on 18:00.
But then, then, then, i misjudge my timing and got there JUST when the dance is over. ARGH.
Below will be the view if i get there on time (cry). First picture was the performance in Uluwatu and below the performance in GWK.
Both performances scheduled at 18:00, designed for the audience so when they watch the performance, they can also see the mesmerising sunset as the background.
Anyway, i end up strolling around GWK to see all the giant statues which have its own perks too 😉
3. BEACHIN’ TIME in Kuta
Kuta is not actually my to go place when it comes to Bali. While the beach is gorgeous, but the crowd creeps me out. Me personally prefer quiet place with breeze, wind, books, and preferably one glass of smoothies everywhere i go. So, strolling around in Kuta only took me less than half hour since i can’t get a quiet discreet place there.
Randomly, i stroll into Discovery Hotel as i was hungry. Walk through their outdoor restaurant, i saw this at the back of the hotel. What the heck? Empty beach in Kuta?!
I instantly lay back and enjoying my books while took some pictures and enjoy the stillness of the place. I think this beach is the private beach of the hotel, but sorry i just need to lay back a bit ;p
This just heaven.
